Hi! I’m Ashbey. For over a decade I have provided support to children and families in various capacities. I graduated in 2013 with my bachelors from The University of North Texas in Interdisciplinary Studies. Having taught multiple grades kinder-8th grade in Texas, Thailand, and Washington my favorite educator hat was mentor. I listened and helped students through many uncertain times. Figuring out solutions to my student’s problems was collaborative, rewarding, and it motivated me to want to do something more than be a teacher. I decided to attend graduate school at Antioch University Seattle and graduated as a Couples and Family Therapist with a certification in Child-Centered Play Therapy. For the past five years I have worked as a therapist in community mental health and then founded my own practice, Playful Healing, to continue to support kids and their families in ways that brings a sense of togetherness so that nobody ever feels like they’re in their fight alone. Today being a support coach, I am helping teens, parents, and families to improve upon areas of their lives. I use my knowledge from my years of schooling and therapy experience to give insight into the many whys you may have and create a plan how to support yourself when emotions get high or when times gets tough.

I believe that a little support and knowledge goes a long way. I take a humanistic and forward thinking approach to providing my services and include psychoeducation using evidence-based modalities. This means we will work together to better understand concerns and create opportunities for improvements in your relationship with yourself and others.
